The best thing I like about Hermione is that she is herself.

Hermione doesn't like sports or fashion or other things. She loves reading and learning and logic. She cares deeply about fairness and justice. She looks out for the vulnerable but she takes responsibilities seriously and pushes others to do the same.

Even Harry and Ron, though they grow to love her for who she is, are driven batty by her. But Hermione is always true to herself, and although she might temper her behavior when she's getting on someone's nerves, she never tries to change herself to please anyone else.
