MI still alive
With Mumbai's win today, the final 4 is going to go down to the last set of weekend games. Even if RCB lose tomorrow, they have a shot at top 4 with certain games going their way and the result of CSK vs DD will only impact CSK's top 2 spot. Scenarios for each team:
SRH: Confirmed top 2. If they choose to rest key players, its advantage KKR and RCB.
CSK: top 2 almost confirmed - win against DD/KXIP or KKR loss against SRH on saturday, will guarantee them the top 2.
KKR: in top 4 with win against SRH on sunday. If they win by a good margin and CSK lose next 2 games badly, they can even sneak into top 2 spot. We will know by friday EOD
MI - win against DD and they are through as they have a very good NRR, unless RCB wins next two games by very big margins and KKR wins their next game. if they lose to DD, they have to be wary of RCB winning next two games with good margins as they can go ahead in NRR.
RCB - with momentum on their side, a depleted RR and a top sitting SRH with potential resting of key players, they would fancy their chances to sneak in top 4. If they manage to do so, it will be an amazing fight back from the verge of elimination and other teams would be wary of such momentum.
RR - a win doesnt guarantee a top 4 spot. They need a win and MI loss or huge win with bad KKR loss to sneak in.
KXIP - they need a win against CSK on sunday AND MI to lose against DD AND RCB to lose tomorrow but win against RR. Assuming the MI, RCB and RR games go their way, they can go all out against CSK and will have an adv if CSK confirm top 2 spot by then in which CSK might rest key players.
DD - will play without fear and go all out. they have a solid base for next season.
