Let me try to explain it, although there is nothing such as true love, pure love. We created these terms to define how much we are obsessed with someone. Let's not drag parental love into this and only talk about love.

Example of Love: You saw a girl, developed feelings for her, a proposal later got into a relationship, you were happy, she was happy, you cared for her and she cared for you too. Then one day, either one or both of you get tired and break-up happens. You both would eventually move on with someone else. Nowadays, this is called love. There is nothing wrong with that and it is not really lust, so it must be love, right?? (at least, that is what most people would think).

Why it was love?
Because you cared. You invested your emotions and time which cannot be found in F-buddy, FWB kinda relationships. What you both had was real, at least for some time.

Example of True Love: You saw a girl, developed feelings for her, a proposal later, got into a relationship, you were happy, she was happy, you cared for her and she cared for you too. Then one day, a fight happened, you got hurt, she got hurt, you said sorry, she said sorry, you both are happy again, again fights and again sorries same thing repeats a million times, still, you are not bored with this person. You had the chance to walk away, you had the chance to find someone better, but you never took that chance because you convinced yourself that she is the one for you, there is no one better than her and with her only, you can be happy because she catered to your needs. This is what most people would refer to as "True Love".

But I would like to call it "True Stupidity" (If you don't like my opinion, just ignore it, don't make me come here again and break your delusions about love)

Example of Pure Love: You saw a girl, developed feelings for her, a proposal later, you ended up as a stranger or the friend she mostly would avoid or a relationship began, worked for some time, then break up happened, still you are happy because you have no expectations from her, she is happy because you are not bugging her to love you, you care, she doesn't really care or will care again, still you are not bored with this person cause you convinced yourself that there is nothing more important than loving her. So she becomes a habit, an addiction, an obsession, a source of your happiness. One day, she gets married then have kids, you stay single and you might even watch porn or peek at hot girls sometimes, jerk off to them, yet after doing those activities you will feel guilty as she still haunts your heart and you made your heart impure by watching those things. You will still keep chanting her name every day 108 times and die one day as single. All because you don't have the courage to go out there and look for someone who accepts you for who you are, who sees how wonderful and awesome you are. And because you convinced yourself that you are not worthy of anyone (although you can never admit it to yourself, but it is what it is). This is what most people would refer to as "Pure Love".

Otherwise, it is "Pure Stupidity".

I will give you the best example of pure love. You know this guy, right??

This guy is probably the stupidest person on earth, I mean he could have gotten out there and would have gone to some fishing, plenty of fish in the sea or lake or pond (whatever the size of your city). He could have found someone like me, or me. I would have married him with my eyes closed and would be doing him and doing him hardcore, like really really really hardcore at this time, but he threw all that away just because he convinced himself that there is no one better for him.

True love and fake love are the types love,
True love is unconditional caring and understanding like our mother and father do to us.
Fake love is lusty and selfish...
