Reminder of ME who wants to BE

I was a very happy ME
When I from ME became a WE

I Loved the WE, it felt like THEE
But on every step i lost a bit of ME

I knew that bit, but it was meant to BE
For making the WE, you need to lose a bit of ME

As days passed and grew the family TREE
Lost was the ME and i felt i made a strong WE

Years passed and what did i SEE
This My World, the one I called WE

Got busy in their respective WE
and now they no longer needed ME

Lost in the game I searched for ME
I found, i did, but it was HE or SHE

I cried to myself, for now I needed ME
' cause how else could I BE

A lesson I had from my Life...

Give in all, to make a WE...
But keep it alive, that bit of ME...

Wow, Siraji, this poem really hits home. The way you describe the journey from “ME” to “WE” and back is so moving. It’s like you’ve perfectly captured that bittersweet dance of growing with others while not losing yourself in the process. Your words remind me how crucial it is to hold on to a bit of who we are, even when we’re part of something bigger. Thanks for sharing this beautiful and heartfelt piece. It’s got me thinking about my own path too. :heart1:

I wrote this from a general perspective while chatting with friends about how our lives have changed since college.

But laddoo.. Your analysis captured the deeper meaning behind it so much better than I had initially realized.

Your comments always move me deeply.

Thanks girl!!❤️

Grew up watching the women of the house losing parts of themselves for what they felt was good for the bigger picture.

Can relate to this very well.
