So I loved her,
As if she were a part of me,
As if she was my breath,
My sole reason for existence.
She is the one,
I thought to myself.
Watching her sun-kissed face every day;
I wondered ,
How did I get so lucky?
Kissing her good morning,
Seemed to be the favorite part of my day.
Nothing could ever come between our love,
I arrogantly pondered.
Summers and winters passed by.
And then, at the end of those
Long, beautiful years,
She said to me,
“But this was not love, baby, it was just libido.”
And I just stood there,
Like a fool.
As if she were a part of me,
As if she was my breath,
My sole reason for existence.
She is the one,
I thought to myself.
Watching her sun-kissed face every day;
I wondered ,
How did I get so lucky?
Kissing her good morning,
Seemed to be the favorite part of my day.
Nothing could ever come between our love,
I arrogantly pondered.
Summers and winters passed by.
And then, at the end of those
Long, beautiful years,
She said to me,
“But this was not love, baby, it was just libido.”
And I just stood there,
Like a fool.
