In August 2018, Kerala experienced unprecedented monsoon rain leading to a flood event that the World Meteorological Organisation ranked among the top five worst floods between 2015 and 2019.

For the third consecutive year(2018,2019,2020), Kerala is being struck with torrential rains, issuing a red alert for the Wayanad and Idukki districts.

Friday 07 2020 :
  • At least nine people have already died from a landslide in the Idukki district with another 70 still believed to be trapped or missing.

  • Plane crash - An Air India Express plane with 190 people on board has crashed at an airport in the southern state of Kerala, killing atleast 18 people.
