Loving someone for many years does not matter unless it goes the same way around. Save your energy for the one who is willing to spend theirs on you. Loving someone and not getting loved in return is soul wrenching, emotionally draining. It numbs you. Ik, Ik, some ppl might say, "Oh! What kinda love is it if you can't love someone without expectations?" Tbh...it is in the nature of human beings to expect. We do not expect anything in return when it is charity.

Unreciprocated love is not a noble sacrifice, rather it's a dead end. Giving endlessly to someone who does not give back does not make you stronger, it makes you exhausted. Love should not be about proving your worth to someone who refuses to see it. Instead it should be who recognizes your value from the start.

So guard your heart. Invest your love where it's cherished, not where it is merely tolerated. Because at the end of the day, love should not just be about persistence, but it should be about finding someone who puts in the same effort as you.

Ya some days I put in 10, and he puts in 90. Other days I give 100 when he feels like zero. And on those lucky days, it's 100 on 100 for both of us. But it's never a constant 0/100.
