Forum: More Than Just Points!!

Atharv

Epic Legend
Points fade. Badges can be revoked. But the conversations—they remain. They shape us, they comfort us.

I really hate it when someone says: "The forum is just for points. Earn Points and Grab a Badge" It feels like they’re stripping away everything meaningful about it—reducing it to a game of badges and numbers. But for me, a forum is so much more. It’s a place I return to, whether life is going great or falling apart. It’s where conversations can feel like lifelines, reminding me that even in moments of silence, there’s someone on the other end.

Have you ever read a thread that just clicked with you? You post a reply, and suddenly you’re in a conversation you didn’t expect—a back-and-forth that’s both casual and profound, making you refresh the page every few seconds just to see if there’s a new reply. These conversations can last hours, days, sometimes even longer. And when I revisit them, I feel proud. It’s like reading a part of myself that’s frozen in time, reliving moments of humor, connection, or even a bit of harmless flirting.

Life pulls me away sometimes—work gets in the way, and I disappear for months, even years. But every time I return, I can’t help but revisit a few old posts, threads that remind me why I keep coming back. Sure, some people have moved on, tired of the point system. But for me, It’s about the conversations—the ones that turn a bad day around, that make you laugh or think. It’s about the people behind the posts, the memories you build with strangers who sometimes feel like old friends.

We can't control the spammers; let them chase their points and badges. What we can control is 'what we choose to read and what we decide to ignore'.

There are many writers and write-ups that are truly beautiful, where the writer pours their soul and heart into every word.

Some newly ( old but name changed) added gems are

@Dakshinq
@Persephone
@Octavia
@Vaishali
@Jaanuu
@sunshinee
@Honey bunch
@ReddyGari ammai ('m glad to see her pouring her heart out.)

@Atharv (Yes, you're amazing too, but you just don't realize it)
Go through their threads when you have time; you'll love them.

Cheers !!

I agree, There is only one point of forum to get: 'to have fun'; by connecting with others, expressing yourself through words and creativity.

More Than Just Points: A Friend to Share Everything With

I never used the forum for points.

We all have hidden dreams or expectations that we can't express in person to others or even to those close to us.

At those times, we use the forum to express our true selves and feelings that come from deep within.

So, I don't see the forum as just a place for points. I know many others feel the same way. It's not just for fun or rewards—people live their dreams here and show their true selves.

They happily use the forum as a friend, someone they can share everything with, without any hesitation.

In this space, we find understanding and connection with like-minded souls, even if we’ve never met them in person.

When I come across threads that I find impressive, I never hesitate to praise them, and I often try to connect with the people behind those words, forming meaningful bonds.
