Ek aag si jalti mujh me, ek toofan sa uthta roj.
Barbaadi jisse kehte, kya yahi hai wo ?
Naa milta sukoon kahi, bas ashq ka sailaab hai.
Barbaadi jisse kehte, kya yahi hai wo ?
Shikan se chayi soorat par, posheeda ghaav hai.
Barbaadi jisse kehte, kya yahi hai wo ?
Yaadon me qaid, hai ek muntazir.
Ishq jisse kehte kya yahi hai wo ?
Kaisi barbaadi, kaisa ishq ?
Maut jisse kehte, yahi hai wo, haa yahi hai wo.
- Aayu Vaayu.
PS - PS is gonna be long (you can skip it if you want).
I'll dedicate this poem to my Ex, haha.
A line from a quote by Vincent Van Gogh - " A great fire burns within me " - I liked this line and wanted to use this in my poem so " Ek aag se jalti mujh me ".
Idk Urdu much, just few words so I thought in my language and then searched a couple of words on Google like - I wanted to talk about invisible wounds and I couldn't think of any proper word so I googled Urdu word for invisible, Idk why but I feel like "Posheeda" doesn't perfectly fit here. If anybody has any suggestion, please lemme know !!
Also, my English isn't great so I cannot translate this in poetic way but I'll share the meaning :
Aag - Fire, Toofan - Storm, Barbaadi - Ruin/destruction/damage, Sukoon - Peace, Ashq - Tears, Sailaab - Flood, Shikan - Wrinkle (here it means - kinda sadness, depression), Soorat - Face, Posheeda - Invisible, Ghaav - Wound, Yaadein - Memories, Muntazir - The one who is waiting for someone/something, Ishq - Love, Maut - Death.
So my poem is about how a person suffers due to heartbreak, life is ruined when the person whom we love, leave us all alone. That phase of being sad and depressed, when you can't think of anything, when you can't do anything except crying is like being dead.
Umm that's it : )
