Is it worth a wait?

It's better to move on. This situation can happen even after years of love and living together. Fate is something that is unpredictable. May be it's not the fault of both people but something made them apart. Move on and reach new goals in life.
Heart would take time and deal the conflict, I will try .♥️ Thank you ..

Grace is a gentle person , a student and was focused on her future, determined to build a life where she could be independent and strong. She built walls around her heart, afraid of the hurt . Then, one night at a college fest, Ansel walked into her life...smart, intelligent, kind, gentle, and patient. He was a dreamer, preparing to leave soon to pursue his passion of flying, and something about him intrigued her.

They became friends, talking for hours about their hopes and fears, their goals, their dreams. Grace admired his ambition, and he, her quiet strength. It wasn’t long before Ansel’s affection for her shifted from friendship to something more, something deeper.

But Grace, consumed by the pressure of her studies and her fear of the vulnerability that came with love, couldn’t handle it. “I can’t love you like you do,” she whispered, her heart breaking. “Please, let find someone who can love you..”

Ansel tried to stay, to convince her they could make it work, but Grace was firm. She needed to be alone, even if it meant losing him. And so, she pushed him away, forcing herself to focus on her studies, take care of her family and future.

Then came the days with no contact, days without him were harder than she ever imagined. She missed him—more than she ever thought possible. His absence echoed through her life, like a constant reminder of what she had lost. Then it hit her: she loved him. She always had. She had been so afraid of loving him that she never realized she already had.
After almost a year, Grace found herself staring at his contact, wondering if it was too late. She had spent so many months convincing herself she had made the right decision, but now the silence between them felt unbearable. Deciding to break the no-contact phase, Grace, with shaking hands, finally reached out to him: “I’m sorry, Ansel. I was wrong. I love you.”

Though Ansel saw the message as soon as it popped up on his notification bar, he didn’t reply immediately. She waited, hoping. A full day passed before his message finally came through...

Her heart raced, torn between excitement and fear as she opened it...words were soft but final.
“Grace, I’ve moved on. I waited for you, but now it’s too late. I thought I could wait for you, but somewhere along the way, I realized I couldn’t keep loving someone who wasn’t ready to love me. Those days were painfully hard for me, but I’m slowly finding peace. I’m sorry.”

Her heart shattered as she realized she had lost him forever. The realization stung like nothing she had ever felt before. As she stared at his message, tears streaming down her face, she made a decision. She would wait for him, try once more. She convinced herself that if their love was true, he would change.

She replied, “It’s okay... it’s too late for you. Please sleep.”
He replied, “Yes, it’s late.”

And that was the last time she ever heard from him. Yet, despite everything, Grace waited!!! What do you think.. Will he ever realise her ?

For me such things happen in novels only
Ummm novels mostly have good endings, so they'll unite up together.

If it was in real then not sure he'll ever come back after he's healed completely.

Btw it was a good write-up, I enjoyed reading it.

Keep going.

Thank you @BellaLuna ♥️ I will wait for the life to be gentle with all of us.
You know when we push someone to leave us due to xyz reasons(it could be family responsibilities, fear of being hurt or anything else), knowing that it's hurting the other person and then after a long period we go back and claim we loved them so much but were afraid of being hurt, we had responsibilities to run, and so on.

But what about the conversations that he had with himself in nights after you left, what about his sleepless nights, what about his tears(precious tears), what about his pains, did he deserve it?

And finally these things have stopped chasing his peace suddenly a msg pops up saying I love you
I believe this time also before replying his hands must have shivered.
But he gives a cold reply
May be this time he's scared...

So before giving up
Try more than once, make the person believe you love him.
May be it's gonna work...

The thing about love is it makes you go mad, crazy, real crazy and makes u do unbelievable stuffs and how long will u stay mad depends on how much love you are receiving.

If the love received was once great and now it has diminished won't entirely matter to the lover as long as it was for legitimate reasons. The lover would still love based on the person who was and not who is right now.
But love is greedy , love is selfish; love would need its attention, love is possessive, love needs to be nurtured between two people and not with the involvement of others.

These all can happen when there would be proper communication between the two people. If one person is in love and he isn't receiving anything in return, he won't be able to stay in love forever, he would be in constant turmoil, he would be in a constant battle with his mind and his heart -- mind saying to move on , she has nothing for me but the heart constantly reminding about her smile, her giggle, her naughty behaviour that you only got to see, her care, every single thing about her gets rewinded through the memory lane -- and every single time the heart wins.

But how long?! How long will the heart win?! The heart will eventually crack and will start to fall apart and still he would love her with each broken piece, with each piece representing her smile or care or anything about her.

But the colours of her memories will soon start to fade away, his heart would slowly heal, his heart would slowly stop grieving, his heart would slowly try to put together but this time he won't be having that mad, crazy heart who loved so freely. Instead it would go numb, incapable of loving another no matter how hard he tries and no matter how much he receives.

The heart once at peace is a heart no more capable of loving like before. He might want to say a lot of words, he might want to express it a lot but words won't come out of his mouth, instead tears would roll down his eyes!!

Ah women move on (only 1% cannot), mostly do. But when a man loves truly, no matter what happens he barely moves on...... He can have relationship's after break up but never loves the same way as he loved his first love.

True men are gentleman.

Fantastic. Beautifully penned. When Grace was not ready , its because at that stage she was much worried about her carrier. Its not ,she dint like Ansel's friendship at first hand but circumstances over powered. Ansel being matured, even though at time he loved her by heart , perceived no future with girl whos not ready . When Grace realises, I dont see anything wrong being human we used to behave like that. Comment of @BellaLuna is perfect but not that easy when its about our own's self. What I appreciate much is the way you accepted comments of all , accepted own mistake and even though its next to impossible , wanted to wait for him , shows you are matured`girl with human like emotions. We dont know what Almighty has decided their fate. But for some reason , he faced any problem for any reason n has to leave his current partner n comes back to Grace, I hope Grace wont give second thought to accept him whole heartedly. Good luck.

I beg to differ tho. Men can and do love after their first.

My first taught me that this is love, a person can be loved this much, and a person can be adored and pamperd and what not.

Yes it hurts when such a love goes away and you keep on comparing the people you meet next with the one you had.

But this should stay only for sometime and not to be persisted with.

What is the point in comparing another unique person with a person you knew? What is the point in clinging in the ashes of a burnt up relation? What is the point of loving the memory of a person?

When you find answers to such questions and make yourselves peace with whatever happened in life, then you finally move on, and the first becomes a beautiful memory that one will cherish for the entirety of life.

Well I never mentioned men won't love again after their first... I said they won't be able to love like they did in first relationship.

Q is Will I ever heal? Will I ever stop carrying this emotional turbulence inside me? Will I ever be able to watch him with someone else and truly feel okay, even when I keep telling myself that he moved on .

I decided to move on the day I saw myself in my mirror

But you are right. It will be tough to love like the first, but I assure you that if the person you be with next is worthy enough, you will love them even more and no matter what
(Idk if it's exclusive to me only but ya it's true for me anyways ╰(*´︶`*)╯)

Will you ever heal? Depends on you!!

Will you ever stop carrying this emotional turbulence inside you? Depends on you!!

Will you ever be able to watch him with someone else and see him happy? Depends on you!!

The questions that loom are what is healing to you? What are you looking for? What do you want to feel if the person comes right in front of you right now?

The answers are to be searched and found out by you!!

See, if by healing you mean that you want to not be affected or haunted by his memories, then you gotta make peace with those memories!!
You have to make sure those were a past time and whatever you had is no more and accept the reality!! That is where we all are lacking, we seems to be stuck in the past and cannot accept reality!!

If the person has moved on, let him be!! Let him have his happy life with whomever he wants to spend it with!!

If you loved him then you should value his happiness and if his happiness is with someone else, then let it be!! You need to move on, slowly but steadily!!
