When life is ugly

Sensely

Newbie
When life is ugly, dark, and cold,
And weary hearts feel tired and old,
When loneliness wraps its heavy cloak,
And dreams are crushed beneath the yoke,

When sorrow stains the once bright mind,
And hope seems lost, nowhere to find,
When wounds are raw, still bleeding deep,
And shadows whisper in the sleep,

The heart, it carries marks unseen,
A silent ache where joy has been,
A fragile soul, once full and free,
Now bears the weight of misery.

The meadows green, the mountains tall,
The rivers flow, the birds that call
All beauty fades, it seems so small,
When inner pain eclipses all.

For nothing shines, nor seems so bright,
When darkness veils the inner light.
Only time may heal or break,
The broken heart, the soul at stake.

You’ve beautifully expressed the experience of emotional darkness, showing empathy for the quiet battles people face. Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt and moving piece.
