The Last Oath 2

Kratos Marc

Active Ranker
She left in silence. No final kiss. No promises.
Just the echo of her footsteps and a door that never closed.

He stands where she left him—armor dull, sword lowered, heart wide open.
The war is over, but peace doesn’t always follow.

“Did I lose her,” he wonders, “or did I simply love someone destined to leave?”

She didn’t look back. Queens rarely do.
Not out of cruelty—but because looking back makes staying harder.
He kneels, not before royalty, but before memory.
A thousand victories couldn’t protect him from this one loss.

They said a knight’s heart is made of steel.
But even steel bends in silence.

Because she’s a queen.
And queens must rise.
But he…
He’s just a knight — continue to fight and give his breath for the realm, was left behind in the quiet.

A story he’ll tell the stars. A love not forgotten, only… released.
Because, sometimes the queen walks away.
And sometimes the knight must learn
how to guard a heart.

His heart may bleed beneath the steel,
but it still beats. And as long as it does,
he will stand.
For the realm.
For the people.
For the memory of a love that taught him what it means to feel.
And what it means to endure.

A true knight doesn’t seek another crown when one is lost.
He doesn’t switch hearts neither his sword.

He serves, he protects, he loves—with a loyalty forged in fire.

Some stories don’t end with another beginning—they echo forever in silence, honoured, not replaced.

This is a poignant and beautifully written piece that captures the pain of loss and the complexity of love. The imagery is vivid, and the contrast between the knight's armor and his vulnerable heart is striking.
