Former prime minister and senior BJP leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee who was born on this day (December 25) in 1925, in Gwalior, laid the foundations of India's resurgent economy. Vajpayee was the first non-Congress prime minister to complete full term of five years. Despite more than a dozen unruly and demanding coalition partners, Vajpayee was not only able to provide a stable government but also took several steps which turned out to be nothing less than revolutionary.
