Tata Group is currently the behemoth of India with a combined market value of over Rs 28 lakh crore, far higher than Adanis and Ambanis. However, unlike Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani, the Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, Ratan Tata does not belong to the top 50 or even top 10, top 5 world billionaires list.
There are several reasons for it such as Ratan Tata does not directly own any company shares that are listed, and the majority of his wealth comes from Tata Sons which is then donated to Tata Trusts. His wealth also comes from other Tata Group companies which are not publicly traded.
Mr Ratan is one of the largest philanthropists in the world and has donated around 60-65% of his income to charity. As per 360 ONE Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2023, Ratan Tata has the highest number of followers amongst all others. His Twitter following rose by 8 lakhs in one year. Ratan's net worth is known to be around Rs 3,800 crore.
