If u think whatever we think is the thing that u think and we do think the same thing..
Also the thing which we dont know what to think where to think why to think and lets join the things to think very much better thing..
Overthinking is the thing that we think more and others think and think more to come thick and thin.. So do overthink and best think and worst thing..
Atlast we do overthink like how think to write this thing..

Overthinking is dangerous
So far, just to say for the sake of saying in lighter way , "overthinking habit' is okay but one should try hard not to.
Thank u !So far, just to say for the sake of saying in lighter way , "overthinking habit' is okay but one should try hard not to.
Your brain needs a break too! Try not to be too hard on yourself.
Most probably we fear unknown danger in our life in some or other way and that gives logical reasoning to mind that its very important to think about it. But , trust me , thats wrong. Dont take it as I am giving you advice. But overthinking is very harmful to our day to day life. It reduces your productivity. Reduces pleasure in your life.
I can tell you by my own experience its possible to come out of 'overthinking'.
Meditation is the best solution. It takes everyday 15 minutes 2 times a day. Search on google or ask friends about Meditation course .
So far, I have done 2 courses.
1. Sidhdha Smadhi Yoga by Guru RishiPrbhakar 15 days course , ( Many centers available ) worth spending time. Its life time benefit.
2. Vipassana by S.N.Goenka 9 days Course @ Egatpuri 3 km from Mumbai ( Also one center itself in Navi Mumbai/ or worldwide many centers available).
I have no words to praise both courses. The most pleasant experience of life.
And there are many other course to learn Meditation . e.g. Art of Living by Ravi Shankar or one by OSHO Rajneesh institute.
Wish you all the best. My efforts are just to help not to advice.![]()
I've been there too... It's like my brain is a never-ending hamster wheel..any tips to how to stop on overthinking? I'm all ears!!
That was a lot of effort buddy. Thank youIt all depends upon what you are identified with. Am I my physical body that's decaying every second and one fine day it will just cease to function and my body is gone, so is my brain gone along with my body? See the function of our brains is to "think". There's nothing like overthinking. If you identify yourself with your brain all day, you will keep thinking because this is what brains do, it just thinks, feeded with information. You can't control your thoughts or your brain function if you keep identifying yourself with your brain or your body. The more you think, the more you will go through emotions, because emotions are just chemical reactions in ur brain.
We can't control our brain or mind but one thing we can definitely choose whether we r identifying ourselves with our body-mind, which is just accumulation of matter, energy and knowledge over time and one day destined to be ceased to exist or we are more than this. If you read Advait Vedant it says you are neither your body nor your mind. You are definitely not your thoughts. Your thoughts are coming from society and your upbringing. Those are conditioned to your brain but not 'yours' or 'you'. Everything which is in body mind dimension, not us. We are beyond them, we are 'emptiness'. Very few people profoundly realized that (definitely not me lol) and they became unbothered with petty thoughts in their brains. This is the way life should be, keep detaching ourselves from body mind dimension even living inside our bodies. The more we detach ourselves from our so called 'accumulation', the more we find our true self, which is nothing but 'emptiness'.
P.S. When I have written the line 'This is the way life should be', here I am writing my pov, not others'. I actually don't like the word 'should', yet I had to write it because of my pov. 'Should' is totally subjective. Even what I consider 'should' today, the other day my 'should' might be changed because we are product of knowledge derived from society. So don't emphasize on 'should' and lemme inform if you know better word to replace 'should' in this context.
U can read the comment from Dom55 and Spirit. They've kinda set the context to itI

It happens to me all the time.
"But put in conscious efforts to keep away from dwindling down that spiral..".... thats the center of the problem most dont know including you. Never to try to stop thoughts by any means. Not even by diverting attention. Thats what the base of Meditation to learn.I write on Overthinking frequently coz that's one mental health issue I still suffer with... But definitely not as intense as it used to be. I did not practice meditation or anything... But put in conscious efforts to keep away from dwindling down that spiral..
Yet i write about it so I get different views... And if there's someone out there who relates to it, might find a way out too.
It's a fun post, but, also with a purpose.![]()
Exactly! This is what I wanted to write. Mindfulness is the key. Observing thoughts without getting involved in this. The function of brain is to think, there is no problem in this but the problem arises when we get involved with it and judge those thoughts labeling them 'bad thoughts' and 'good thoughts' and we get emotions based on the lebel because emotions are nothing but chemical reactions in ur brain. Thought is thought, there is nothing good or bad, just observe them as it is, don't react to them at all. When u truly understand that ur thoughts are borrowed from society, not 'urs' and ur emotions are just 'chemical reactions' in ur brain driven by ur borrowed thoughts then u might be calmer and more composed."But put in conscious efforts to keep away from dwindling down that spiral..".... thats the center of the problem most dont know including you. Never to try to stop thoughts by any means. Not even by diverting attention. Thats what the base of Meditation to learn.
In short ,let thoughts come as it is. Just dont carried away in your thoughts. Watch thought like they doesnt matters to you. IN Acharya Rajneesh's one of the book there is example of Mulla Nasaruddin about how he tries hard efforts not to think about precious cloths he possess and consequences of his efforts to stop that thoughts about cloths. Whenever you try to stop the thoghts they comeback in double speed.
What teaches Meditation. ' Not to do anything" Not that easy thing.
