I fell in love once a long time ago, but I can't remember what it felt like. I don't feel love anymore after the breakup. I want to know how one knows that he is in love with someone? That feelings is love not infatuation or false attachment or attraction? Can one love any one by his/her will or it just happens ? If it happens spontaneously, why i'm not getting that feelings any more ?

Falling in love is a deeply personal experience, and the way it manifests can be different for everyone. Since you've felt love once before but can't recall what it felt like, it might be that the emotional intensity of that love has faded over time, or maybe the heartbreak built walls around your heart. It’s not uncommon—sometimes, after a painful ending, our mind unconsciously protects us from similar emotional vulnerability.

How Do You Know It's Love and Not Infatuation or Attraction?

1. Love Grows, Infatuation Fades – Infatuation is intense but short-lived; love deepens over time. If your feelings remain even after the initial excitement wears off, it’s likely love.

2. Love is Selfless, Infatuation is Self-Centered – Love prioritizes the other person's happiness, while infatuation is more about personal desires.

3. Love is Comfortable, Not Just Exciting – If you feel at peace rather than anxious around them, it's love.

4. Love Accepts Flaws – Infatuation often idealizes a person, but love embraces their imperfections.

5. Love Stays Even in Hard Times – Attraction may fade with distance or difficulty, but love persists thro
ugh struggles.

Can One Love by Will, or Does It Just Happen?

Love isn't entirely in our control. You can choose to nurture love, but you can’t force yourself to feel it. It happens naturally when two souls connect in a way that feels right. That’s why arranged relationships sometimes turn into love, while some passionate romances fade away.

Why Aren’t You Feeling It Again?

1. Emotional Guarding – Past heartbreak may have made you subconsciously wary of feeling love again.

2. Unfinished Healing – Maybe you haven’t fully moved on from the past, even if you think you have.

3. Lack of Emotional Spark – Love isn’t just about finding the right person but also about feeling the right emotions at the right time.

4. Change in Perspective – Maybe your definition of love has changed, and you're waiting for something that matches your evolved understanding.

Will You Feel Love Again?

Yes. Love is an unpredictable force. It comes when least expected. Instead of searching for it or worrying about its absence, focus on experiencing life fully. Love isn’t just about romance—it’s also in friendships, passions, and the little things that make your heart feel alive.

When the time is right, and the right person comes along, love will find its way back to you.

It seems very insightful to me ❤️

May be i'm selfish :( that's why i can't love any one. Everything revolving arround one phrase "Why should i care ? " :Dull:
Feeling this way doesn’t necessarily mean you're selfish. Sometimes, after heartbreak or emotional exhaustion, the ability to care deeply for someone else feels distant. It’s not that you can't love—it might just be that your heart is protecting itself.

"Why should I care?" often comes from a place of past hurt, disappointment, or even emotional numbness. Maybe, at some point, you cared too much and got nothing in return, so now your mind questions if it's even worth it.

But love isn’t always about sacrifice or losing yourself in someone else. Real love is about connection—feeling seen, understood, and valued. If that spark hasn’t come back yet, it doesn’t mean you’re incapable of love. It just means you haven’t found a reason to care deeply again, and that’s okay.

Have you ever felt this way about things beyond relationships—like friendships, passions, or even small joys in life? Sometimes reconnecting with those emotions can make love feel possible again.

Love - At the beginning you will feel deep sense of happiness and contentment when you are with that person.
We may find a precious one for whom we can go for any extent to have them with us for lifetime, and the other few gives a life lesson.

At times we confuse infatuation with love, when you wake up to reality, the love of your life will disappear.

At the end its all about mutual respect, being there for each other, spending time, Trust and empathy.

If not you will end like the below. :Laugh1:

The concern is "I can't find any reason to love some one", many are trying to be with me but not a single girl impressed me so far" it could be my emotional blockage or some thing about her

That's purely your personal perception bhai saab.

Here is my thought:
You had a love failure and decided not to love anyone. May be you need to change this mind set.
Coz everytime, when you are in a Convo with someone, this feeling about your past relationship strikes through and create a blockage.
Continuing this may create many problems as well.

There are N number of people in this world and everything will happen gradually when you go on with the flow.
Live a little ;).

I fell in love once a long time ago, but I can't remember what it felt like. I don't feel love anymore after the breakup. I want to know how one knows that he is in love with someone? If it happens spontaneously, why i'm not getting that feelings any more ?
Not that hard to know you are in love. You start smiling without any reason. You find surrounding very beautiful . You think God is great and you are luckiest person in whole world. You say sorry to person for his/her mistake, not yours. You want to help to anyone. Even you start liking your enemy. IN short, you start enjoying each n every moment of your life , no matter how bad your circumstances are.

Love isn’t always the same—it changes as we do. Infatuation fades, but real love grows with understanding and care. You can’t force it, but you can stay open to it. If you’re not feeling it now, it just means your heart is still healing. When the right person and time come, love will find you again.

When u realized that ur time is fucked up.. and ur beloved one also feels/tells the same!
but both together stand for each other! That's when Love is actually felt

Got it

Sometimes we evolve with time and that means our definition of emotions like love changes too. We are no longer looking for or want same things we did years back.
Before we look out for love we need to have clarity and understanding of who we have become over period of time.
