Heart of Stone (poem I wrote)

Nemo

Wellknown Ace
My heart beating at a temperature of forty below
Although it wasn't like that a couple of years ago
I can't tell you what happened, I'm not too sure
I saw the light, but it started to become obscure
Stayed in the dark and tried to tolerate the cold
I'm stuck and waiting now for a miracle to unfold
Then I saw the light embraced it, my heart is warm
You entered my life, and somehow cleared the storm
It was love but nothing good can ever seem to last
The pain surpassed till my heart shattered like glass
It came and left that fast, now it is just my past
You picked me up and raised me from all the of the Hell
But impelled me to go, so you dropped me and I fell
Now I sit here all alone with a heart now of stone

Reminiscing on the love me and you had once known

Forty below always bring calamities to life and heart !

I wrote this a long time ago, after a break up with someone who I really thought was the 'one' I poured all of my emotions and feelings into this and at the time of writing it also realised that it could also relate to how I never had a relationship with my mother, because she was pretty much non-existent in my life, never there to help me, or guide me, or pick me up when I fell. This is the first time in over 15 years that I've read this poem back, and I thought now I'm in a better place mentally, it was time to share it
