This thread is a kind of journal both fictional and real about wandering the 28 states of the majestic India. Starting from Jammu Kashmir (Day 1).
{Details of the place is either from the books that I have read or from any authorized publications. If you ever visited the place, you could add more detailed description about the place.}

Day 1: ᗰᗰ

Kindly permit me ZoZoians to regale you with an account of my recent travels from the bustling streets of Delhi to the serene heights of Jammu. (FICTIONAL) The flight, which took place on the 10th of September 2023, was on the esteemed Jet Airways flight 101, departing promptly at 10:15 AM and arriving in the charming city of Jammu at precisely 12:45 PM. The skies were clear, and as we soared over the varied landscapes, a sense of anticipation fluttered in my chest.

Upon arrival, the air of Jammu greeted me with its crisp, invigorating embrace. The city, nestled amidst the majestic foothills of the Himalayas, presented a tableau of unparalleled beauty. The lofty mountains, verdant and resplendent, seemed to whisper secrets of ages past, filling my soul with an awe that only nature can bestow.

Yet, amidst the splendor, fatigue soon made its presence felt. The weariness of travel tugged gently at my limbs, and a certain weariness settled in my bones. I resolved to take a brief respite, but fate had other plans for me.

In my quest for a more profound experience of this enchanting locale, I found myself persuaded to embark upon a Shikara journey upon the tranquil waters of the Dal Lake. How serene it seemed! The gentle lapping of the water against the wooden vessel, the serene reflection of the surroundings – a veritable Eden on Earth. However, this moment of tranquility was soon marred by an unwelcome encounter.

The Shikara, it would seem, had become the centerpiece of a minor dispute. The local vendors, each more amiable than the last, seemed to be engaged in a subtle conspiracy to levy an extravagant fee, well above the reasonable sum I had been led to expect. Each establishment, upon learning of my origins, proffered a price that bore little resemblance to the previous one. A most disconcerting experience, to say the least.

A brief but spirited exchange ensued, during which I endeavored to negotiate a fair rate. My pleas, though courteous, were met with an air of practiced indifference. Ultimately, it was not merely the fee but the principle of the matter that troubled me. I was resolute not to be easily deceived, and so I acquiesced to a compromise, albeit with a lingering sense of disillusionment.

Returning to my hotel, the weariness of the day began to envelop me once more. As I settled into my room, I could not help but be captivated by the panoramic view that lay beyond my window. The mountains, bathed in the soft hues of twilight, seemed to extend an invitation to dream. I allowed myself to be lulled by the tranquil beauty of the scene, and before I knew it, the gentle embrace of sleep claimed me.

Thus concludes my brief but eventful journey to Jammu. it has left me with memories both sweet and piquant.

Day 2; Himachal Pradesh

Woke up at 2 PM! Yeah, I know what you’re thinking. But after a night of binge-watching, who wouldn’t want to sleep in? I scrambled to pack my bags, a little hungover from the late-night snacks and movies. Next stop: Himachal Pradesh!

As I stepped off the plane, I was hit by the crisp mountain air. Seriously, it felt like nature had rolled out a welcome mat just for me! Kullu Valley welcomed me with its vibrant greens and stunning views.

My first adventure was in Kullu, where I got lost in the Kullu Valley. Picture this: apple orchards everywhere, a river flowing like a Bollywood song, and locals prepping for the Dussehra festival. I chatted with them—amazing hospitality! They treated me like I was family, which made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

I took a cab to Manali, and wow, it was like entering a postcard! Solang Valley was my playground for the day. I paraglided for the first time—imagine soaring over the mountains, feeling like a bird! I met some fellow travelers, all eager for adventure. We swapped stories, laughed at our own travel fails, and formed a mini family in just one day.

Rohtang Pass was next, and let me tell you, the view from up there is what dreams are made of! ❄️ I bumped into a group of Himachal women, all dressed in their vibrant traditional attire. They were chatting, laughing, and before I knew it, I was part of their world. They shared stories of their culture, and I attempted to pick up a few local phrases. Talk about cultural exchange!

On my last day, I hit up a local café in Manali. I had to try Sidu and Chana Madra. The owner was this sweet old man with a twinkle in his eye. He shared family recipes and tales of Himachal’s history while I savored every bite.
