Its really a shocking news in newspaper headlines today and it still haunting me even now. A newly married bride had to go through a series of torture from her husband at home and she is struggling with her life now. All prayers for her speedy recovery and i don't know why its still happening in Indian homes. Is that the husbands think Wife means Wonderful Instrument For Enjoyment?? Why a lady has to go through these tortures and harassments from husband and in-laws??
Wish to hear your views on this.

I am shocked and saddened for the girl. I am a girl and wish her a speedy recovery.

What kind of torture has happened to the girl ? Physical or mental ?

Every man should know that a girl leaves her own home and goes to another's home, forgetting her own happiness in the hope of bringing happiness to another's home. When a girl is molested by a man after so much sacrifice, legal action should be taken against such a man.

This problem is not only in our country but it is more or less a problem in all countries but in our country this problem has not reduced but it is increasing compared to before. The government should pay personal attention to this matter so that women can live with a little dignity and love wherever they are.

yes you are right. There are women protection laws in our country however when it comes to law enforcement it is just a drama. In this case, the girl informed her parents about the tortures before and they went to police station to file complaint. But police refused and they called the guy's parents and wanted a mutual settlement. I don't know how women can live with dignity when such a law enforcement force in our country.

Btw fear<insecurity> and common sense have no particular gender.
Comparision and lack of common sense are the root cause of violence.

Rules are never defined based on gender.

Look, our country is a patriarchal country from the beginning. So no matter what happened, men always showed their strength. And because of the situation, many times the girls turned around before something happened, the girls are careful and think later what can be done ? And because of this, divorce is happening in our society today, families are breaking up, girls are leaving their husband's house and moving to their own house, many times they are taking action against the husband, due to which alienation is increasing between husband and wife.

So it should be considered by listening to both sides. There is no problem if two criminals are punished instead of one person but no one who is innocent or who has done no wrong should not be punished.

Yes true but someone who is looking for dowry should be punished even before marriage happens.

Don't talk about it anymore, it makes me angry. They will take a girl in marriage and also take a dowry. Even then, the girls have to bear the torture in the in-laws' home...

I'm deeply saddened to hear about the tragic news. It's heart-wrenching that such cruelty still exists, and my thoughts are with the victim for her speedy recovery. This incident is a stark reminder that in many homes, especially in India, outdated and harmful perceptions about marriage and gender roles persist.A marriage should be a partnership based on mutual respect, love, and understanding, not one of control and abuse. No one should ever be seen as a "Wonderful Instrument For Enjoyment." Every individual, whether labeled as husband, wife, brother, sister, or any other role, deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. We must remember that everyone is a fellow human being first and foremost. Respecting others and their personal space is fundamental. No one should take another for granted, and absolutely no one has the right to raise their voice in anger or physically abuse another person. It's crucial that we, as a society, continue to challenge and change these harmful mindsets. We need to educate and advocate for equal and respectful treatment of all individuals, regardless of their role in the family or society. Let's strive to create a world where love and respect are the foundations of all relationships.
