You bow to lust with eager heart,
In shadows where love departs.
Chasing thrills, you miss the flame,
A fleeting game, a hollow claim.

With every touch, you seek the high,
But deep within, your heart's a lie.
For lust consumes, then leaves you cold,
A worship built on fool's gold.

You call it passion, wild and free,
Yet wear the chains you fail to see.
In lust's embrace, you lose the light,
Mistaking pleasure for what's right.

But face the truth, though hard to find,
Lust fades away, it leaves you blind.
Love never endures; love simply is,
Beyond all measure, still, it lives.

Nice to read People are so addicted to lust and have forgotten the good and bad aspects. Today, lust is a terrible disease. People are not afraid to do anything to satisfy lust. It seems that lust is so addictive.

Thank you, bhai! :) I'm glad that you took the time to read. Lust is a powerful and often destructive force, and it's easy to get caught up in its allure. When I wrote that poem, I wanted to highlight how lust can lead us astray, making us chase illusions instead of what's real and meaningful. It's a reminder that while lust is tempting, it's ultimately empty compared to the stillness and truth of love.

You can be in love and also lust for someone, but out of the two, love is more powerful. This is because lust is only temporary. You'll eventually stop lusting for whoever you're lusting for, but love isn't temporary. It only takes a moment to fall in love but it can take a long time to fall out of it.

Thank you for your insights. I see where you're coming from, but my perspective on love and lust differs. For me, love isn’t about comparison or measurement; it transcends labels like “powerful” or “weak.” In its purest form, love is an immediate, unconditioned witnessing that exists beyond memories and judgments.

Lust, on the other hand, involves comparisons and contrasts, creating illusions of power and permanence. It’s shaped by our accumulated experiences and ideas, which is why we talk about it in terms of being powerful or temporary.

In essence, while lust can be evaluated in these ways, love transcends such constructs. It simply exists in the present moment, unaffected by past experiences or future expectations. This distinction highlights that love, in its truest sense, cannot be compared or measured like lust. It’s about witnessing what is, free from the distortions of comparison and memory.

All your points are correct but it was my point to say something about both(love/lust). :Laugh1:

Who really understands the meaning of love? To cheat in the name of love, people don't even think about the good and bad aspects, when the interests are met, people move away, so that they can't say what is lust alone? It is also a form of lust

Yes, I see your point, and I agree with you also bhai. It’s true that what some people call love can indeed be a form of lust. It’s important to witness that not all actions or relationships labeled as "love" are truly reflective of its pure essence.
