Beneath the silence...

Solara

Favoured Frenzy
Ethan adjusted his tie as he settled into his usual seat by the window at the coffee shop. His leather briefcase sat neatly at his feet, and his laptop hummed softly as he reviewed the quarterly reports for an upcoming meeting. At thirty-two, he was a senior analyst at a top consulting firm, navigating complex financial landscapes with ease. His colleagues admired his precision, but none of them knew about the quiet weight he carried—his mother’s medical care, his younger brother’s education, and the expectations he shouldered without complaint.

The coffee shop was his refuge, a momentary pause in a life full of responsibility. He never complained, never showed stress. He simply moved forward, taking life as it came. Yet, in the rare moments when the world quieted around him, he felt the faint echo of something missing. He didn’t dwell on it. There wasn’t time.

Across the room, Hannah watched him from behind her laptop. She was a freelance graphic designer, spending her mornings here to soak in the ambient buzz before diving into client work. Ethan had caught her attention months ago—the way he seemed utterly composed, yet carried a quiet depth in his eyes. She’d sketched him once, unsure why, but the drawing now sat folded in her notebook.

Today, she noticed a slight shift in his demeanor—less hurried, more contemplative. She took a deep breath, her heart pounding as she stood, coffee in hand.

“Excuse me,” she said softly, stopping beside his table. Ethan looked up, his dark eyes meeting hers, a flicker of curiosity and warmth crossing his face.

“Hi,” he said, closing his laptop.

“I’ve seen you here a lot,” she began, her voice steady despite her nerves. “I just thought I’d say hello. I’m Hannah.”

A small smile spread across Ethan’s face. “Nice to meet you, Hannah. I’m Ethan.”

“Mind if I sit?”

“Not at all,” he replied, gesturing to the empty chair.

As she settled in, the din of the coffee shop seemed to fade. They exchanged a few polite words, their conversation light and tentative. Yet there was an unspoken connection, a shared understanding neither could fully articulate.

Whether this moment would lead to friendship, love, or simply another fleeting interaction was unclear. But for now, it was enough—a spark in the quiet routine of their lives, a possibility waiting to unfold.

PS : How did their conversation go....? Watch out for the next part...

Bought high quality new laptop, fine costly small leather briefcase , and started spending atleast half an hour everyday ( not more then half hour ..Need to look busy ) , to famous coffee shop , wearing blue suit n matching tie ( my routine is casual wear as my work doesnt require ,So normally I dont wear , suit n tie) . Fixed my seat near window at one corner , from where I can keep an eye on whos ( especially gorgeous girls ) keeping eye on me , constantly checking on my laptop screen . Repeatedly heard, there is someone out there for everyone. God is great. :smoking::cool:

What do I do with them now... A long journey, getting to know each other... See them figure shit out together?

Hannah shows interest, but he's not able to return it at least not yet. He's an introvert, focused on his responsibilities and believes love grows in silence. There’s a pause before love fully unfolds. There will be some twists and turns but in the end they’ll figure life out together. After trying so hard Hannah will eventually leave feeling desperate and defeated. But he won't let go. Driven by his feelings he’ll go after her determined to find her and make things right.

Right now this is all I can think of.

That's an interesting line.... We'll see...

"Only if it ends well" eh ?

Hahaha point taken Sir ! But then.. not everyone gets a fairytale love story ! Hell, even those have hardships...
My concern is , Ethan & Hannah 's story has happy ending. Then I am ready to fight till end. Hardship doesnt matter to me. Keeping eye how it unfolds. Now ,its all in your hand , whether I should leave coffee shop permanently or continue . :smoking::cool:
