Time Zones and Goodnight Whispers

Distance is a funny thing. You’d think it would make everything harder, but somehow, with him, it just... works.

We live in different time zones, but we’ve found our rhythm. When he wakes up early in the morning, I’m already halfway through my workday. That’s our time. He’s getting ready for work, I’m wrapping up mine, and we talk and talk—until I finally doze off.

It’s become our unspoken routine.

"You still there, baby?"

No reply.

He knows I’ve fallen asleep.

That’s when he leaves me a message. Something soft. Something sweet.

"Sleep well, my love. Sweet dreams."

And every morning, the first thing I do when I wake up is reply—knowing he still has a few hours left before he opens his eyes to start his day.

It’s not perfect, but it’s us.

We don’t let time zones define us. If anything, we’ve made them ours. I fall asleep to his words. He wakes up to mine. And somehow, it feels like we’re never really apart.

Sweet things aside, I hate the time zones sometimes.. Grrrrr

That was such a heartwarming chapter! The way you two have turned time zones into something special instead of a barrier is beautiful. But yeah, time zones can be annoying—especially when you just want to be with that person in the same moment. Grrrr indeed!
