Exactly! Kindness does not mean self-sacrifice to the point of exhaustion. Healthy boundaries are essential, and saying "no" or standing up for yourself does not make you any less of a good person. True kindness includes self-respect and ensuring that your energy, time, and well-being are valued.

Being kind doesn’t mean letting others take advantage of you—it means treating both yourself and others with dignity. Well said! Did something happen that made you think of this?

Hey...thanks for asking right questions and taking a discussion in right direction Lion.
I have always been pretty straightforward and upfront in all my relationships and behaviour. Sometimes that kind of behaviour is seen or misunderstood as arrogant or having attitude. I try to be as polite as possible but I have my boundaries and I don't let anyone cross them. That doesn't go down well lot of times .

That’s a solid way to live. Being upfront and having clear boundaries isn’t arrogance—it’s self-respect. People often mistake directness for attitude because they’re used to blurred lines and sugarcoated words. But being polite doesn’t mean being a pushover.

Not everyone will appreciate or understand this, but the right ones will. It’s better to have fewer people who respect you than many who try to walk over you.

Have you always been this way, or did life experiences shape this mindset?@sassyandsavage
