Random Ramblings of Nemo

Nemo

Wellknown Ace
I'm sat here staring at a wall
Waiting for an illusive phone call
Maybe it will happen when it's fall
Emotions in abundance, always rumbling

Whatever happens I will be fumbling
While my thoughts will be tumbling
Around in the vast confines if my brain
Enough to make he, she, you and I insane

Always searching to be provocatively told
To man up, be strong, chin up, be bold.

Coincidentally I'm not strong but I'll hold
My head high with pride and stall tall
Knowing I broke the mould from the norm

So here I sit waiting for that illusive call...

A poignant and relatable poem!

You've beautifully captured the essence of waiting, hoping, and longing for a connection. The imagery of staring at a wall, waiting for a phone call that may never come, is a powerful metaphor for the human experience.

Your words convey a sense of vulnerability, uncertainty, and emotional turmoil. The lines "Emotions in abundance, always rumbling" and "Thoughts... tumbling / Around in the vast confines of my brain" perfectly capture the chaos and intensity of inner struggles.

The societal pressures to "man up, be strong, chin up, be bold" are also thoughtfully addressed. Your response, "I'm not strong, but I'll hold / My head high with pride and stand tall," is a testament to resilience and self-empowerment.

The repeated reference to the "illusive call" serves as a reminder that sometimes, the things we wait for may never materialize. Yet, it's in these moments of uncertainty that we discover our own strength and capacity to persevere.

Your poem is a beautiful expression of the human condition, and I'm sure many readers will find themselves reflected in your words.

I like your breakdown of the meaning of this poem, I'll admit even though you are very correct about the meaning behind it, it wasn't something that I thought off when I wrote it, I literally just wrote the first thing that crossed my mind at that time
